Age composition

The most affected is the 30-39-year-old age group, of which every 50th person is HIV-infected.

Causes of infection

The sexual path continues to predominate, which should be very alarming, because the number of people with more than one sexual partner is vast, and creates a huge potential for the development of the HIV epidemic.

Growing infection in the halls of medical institutions, which is also an indicator of the epidemic ills HIV: for 10 months in 2017 reported 12 suspected cases of HIV infection in health care.

Educational composition

Persons with secondary specialized education predominate. Perhaps in the future we will face a shortage of specialists due to HIV infection.

Treatment

Only a third of those infected with HIV received the necessary treatment, there were interruptions in the supply of the necessary drugs.

Population survey for HIV

Conclusions

  1. In 2017, HIV, AIDS continued its victorious march across Russia, involving more and more groups of the population in the epidemic process.
  2. The preventive measures taken were inadequate. It turned out that it’s not enough to just distribute condoms and leaflets.
  3. To prevent an epidemic catastrophe, the intervention of the main political figure of Russia, volleys from all weapons: loyalty, abstinence, condoms, pre-contact, post-exposure drug prevention is required.
  4. We need to develop our own pharmaceutical production facilities to create inexpensive, affordable drugs to maintain undetectable viral load in HIV-infected, pre-contact, post-exposure prophylaxis.

The information is based on the official data of the Russian Federal Center for AIDS Control, territorial AIDS centers, ROSPOTREBNADZOR.
